Past R&D Projects
In addition to the annual program of hydrogeological surveys and exploratory drilling for aquifer delineation and first approximation of ground water potential and quality, CGWB has conducted aquifer mapping and characterization through R&D projects. Some of these projects were implemented in partnership with International agencies. These R&D projects are the following:
Ground water studies in Rajasthan & Gujarat, Phase-I - 1967-71 and Phase – II - 1971-1974 (Rajasthan and Gujarat) – Phase– I in collaboration with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Phase – II : A R&D Project of Government of India
Canadian Assisted Groundwater Project in collaboration with Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and Alberta Research, 1971-1975 (Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka)
Narmada River Basin Project, 1971-1975 (Madhya Pradesh & Gujarat) – A R&D Project of Government of India
Ground water studies in Upper Yamuna Project, 1973-1977(Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh & UT of Delhi) –A R&D Project of Government of India
Groundwater studies in Ghaggar River Basin, 1974-1978 (parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and UT of Chandigarh) in collaboration with UNDP
Ground water balance Project in Noyil, Amravati and Ponnani river basins in collaboration with Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), 1975-1980 (Tamil nadu and Karnataka)
Vedavati River Basin Project, 197 5-1980 (Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh) – A R&D Project of Government of India
